Action Plan for Developing Discovery Skills Eunice Joy Gajjala Introduction Covey, S. R. (2004, p. 171). With people, little things are big thing. In some people, Innovation comes by birth. Some develop their innovative skills by learning and practicing. If they get the enough support from their family and friends, they would become the supervisors of the company and make it a huge success with their innovative skills. Five skills make the innovators unique from others. Ordinary people must acquire these skills to become creative. Associating Observing Questioning Networking Experimenting Action Plan An individual can become an innovative person by developing the following the below guidelines Reviewing Priorities Assess your Discovery skills Identify a compelling innovative challenge Practice your discovery skills Get a coach Before undergoing any task, first, we must assign the priorities for the tasks that we must complete on time. There are things which need to be met by giving high priority with respect to time, and there are things that can be delayed. We must plan, analyze, execute and implement them as per the strategies to achieve the goal. After assigning the priorities, we must work on strengths and weakness of our delivery and discovery skills. Later, we must work on the task in which we are facing challenges. This may be a personal challenge or an innovative challenge. Make a plan to practice the discovery skills to become innovative After choosing the challenges, we must work hard on the problems. Practice all the five discovery skills to overcome the problem. The first step for practicing is questioning. Try to improve the questioning skills Questions storming activities. Later identify the strongest skill that you possess and practice it. A coach or a mentor would always be helpful to motivate us in developing the discovery skills. Ethical Impact Back Biting is the issue that impacts the organization. Employees will reveal the secrets of one organization to the other one which is known as the internal threat to the company. It usually occurs due to the dissatisfaction in the current organization. This kind of behavior is usually resolved by broadening the emotional intelligence and by making the employees follow the ethical culture of the company. Ethical Framework Covey, S. R. (2004, p.348), I suggest three ways to develop spiritual intelligence: first, integrity-being true to ones highest values, convictions and conscience, and having a connection with the Infinite; second, meaning-having a sense of contribution to people and to causes; and third, voice-aligning our work with our unique talents or gifts, and our sense of calling. To overcome the ethical issue of back biting, spiritual intelligence has to be build up in the employees. Managers have to involve in this process. We can avoid the internal threats to the company by building up the emotional intelligence in the current employees. As said by Covey, we can develop the spiritual intelligence by integrity, meaning and voice aligning. Developing Discovery skills in Next Generation Technology is developing day by day, so as the innovation. Consider, Mark Zuckerberg, he used to sit on the last bench in his schooling, he was not soo studious, but even then now he became the CEO of the worlds number one social networking site, i.e., Facebook. He achieved this position with his innovative and discovery skills. It is the responsibility of the adults to improve the discovery skills in the children. The above diagram represents the leading innovation of a person with others. We must encourage the next generation through the developing as well as the risk-taking skills.   Ã‚   Sawhney, M. (2016, para. 1), A company can innovate along any of 12 different dimensions with respect to its (1) offerings, (2) platform, (3) solutions, (4) customers, (5) customer experience, (6) value capture, (7) processes, (8) organization, (9) supply chain, (10) presence, (11) networking, and (12) brand. A company can choose many ways to innovate. Each organization follows its strategies and policies to innovate. My Dyer-Discovery and Delivery Skills This table represents my Dyer-Discovery and Delivery Skills, The discovery skills are 38 and the delivery skills are 39. I almost possess equal discovery and delivery skills. Conclusion Dyer, J., Gregersen, H., Christensen, C. M. (2011, p. 221). Innovative leaders know innovation doesnt just happen, but requires a significant time commitment. Along with the five discovery skills, we must also possess the time commitment to become innovative. Observing the things and challenging the tough tasks by taking the risks are the common commitments of the innovative people. How do the three poems To His Coy Mistress, The Sick Rose and Sonnet 138 convey the imperfect nature of love? Each of the three poems conveys the imperfect nature of love in one way or another. Personally I feel that love can never be perfect as there are always going to be arguments that arise in any relationship. I think that two people can love each other but it will never be perfect unless there is complete trust and understanding in all situations. Another reason is that there is no such thing as perfection so therefore everything can always be better. The three poems that I am comparing are ‘To His Coy Mistress’, Andrew Marvell (1621-78), ‘The Sick Rose’, William Blake (1757-1827) and ‘Sonnet 138’, William Shakespeare (1564-1616) None of the poems portray a romantic idea of love, but more the dark side of it. Each shows a different aspect of love. However they all show that love is not perfect. Although each poem deals with the imperfect nature of love, they each have their own diverse theme. ‘To His Coy Mistress’ is about sexual desire and basically the poet trying to get his mistress into bed. In this poem the man is trying to persuade and pressure the woman. We then have a poem that can also be interpreted as sexual. An example of the sexual implications of te poem is however this poem’s interpretation is more down to the reader and how they view it. Even with its many interpretations ‘The Sick Rose’ essentially gives a warning about the dangers that love can bring. The third poem has no similarities within the theme as the others do. ‘Sonnet 138’ deals with the imperfect nature of love through the form of lies within a relationship. We can see similarities between the themes of ‘To His Co... ...e similarities within the tones but William Shakespeare’s is completely different to both of them. This poem is more thoughtful and advising. It starts as thoughtful then begins to become questioning. At the end it then develops a tone of resignation. Overall in my opinion ‘The Sick Rose’ is the poem that depicts the imperfect nature of love best. This is because it is the most serious of the poems and it is the one that contains the most warnings. In the other two poems there is a feeling of happiness. Even in ‘To His Coy Mistress’ there is a sense of love in the relationship. ‘The Sick Rose’ however does not give any feelings of happiness but instead reveals a rather dark side of love that nobody would like to be part of. Holden’s depression by J.D Salinger Essay

According to Psychiatric News the depression rate of a normal 16 year old is 11.5%. Holden Caulfield was apart of that 11.5% because he is disconnected with his family, is drinking heavily and is trying to experience sexual relations with older women. In Catcher in the Rye, J.D Salinger uses Holden’s interactions with his family, alcohol and sexuality to demonstrate his depression. This story describes that with Holden’s brother, Allie passing away it makes his depression rate go higher but lowers as he ‘talks’ to him. â€Å"I felt so depressed, you can’t even imagine. What I did, I started talking, sort of out loud to Allie,†(98) said Holden. This shows that whenever Holden would feel down and depressed that the only person to go to was his brother, Allie. This was a way of comfort for Holden throughout the story. There are more incidents when Holden felt depressed and just talked to his dead brother, Allie, which is Salinger’s way to demonstrate his depression. Alcohol demonstrates Holden’s depression also. â€Å"There isn’t any nightclub in the world you can sit in for a long time unless you can at least buy some liquor and get drunk of unless you’re with some girl that really knocks you out,† said Holden which describes that with the word usage of â€Å"at least buy some liquor and get drunk† meant that for him to have a good time he would need to be drunk to have fun. Also, the words â€Å"unless you’re with some girl that really knocks you out† explains that not just being drunk at a nightclub would make him enjoy himself but just having someone to talk to would also help to get rid of the loneliness. Being alone and needing someone to talk to, links back to Holden’s depression issues. Lastly, Holden is mostly saddened by his sexual relationships with older women. Holden’s quote â€Å"don’t you feel like talking for a while†(124) , lets the reader know that he is scared and doesn’t really want to have sex with Sunny and just needed someone to talk to. Holden wanted to keep the conversation going but could not because Sunny was a prostitute and was only there for the money, not for conversation. The words â€Å"don’t you feel like†¦Ã¢â‚¬  shows that Holden is just asking questions, trying to prevent Sunny from doing her job or ignoring the real reason she was there. This shows that Holden only asked Maurice to send up a girl for him so he would have someone to talk to since he could not talk to his mom about his problems since she wasn’t around. As a result, he tries to connect with other older women instead. Salinger uses Holden’s attraction to older women to demonstrate the extent of his depression and need t o have someone to give a listening ear. Catcher in the Rye demonstrates Holden’s depression by J.D Salinger’s usage of his family, alcohol and sexuality. These quotes all show that his use of alcohol, sexual relationships and the lack of family all contributed to Holden’s depression. His is one of the many teenage depression cases that make up the 11.5% of the nation’s depression rate.

Ernest Hemingway is a classic author whose books helped define a generation. His to the point writing style and life of adventure made him a literary and cultural icon. His list of works includes novels, short stories, and non-fiction. During World  War I signed up to drive ambulances on the front line in Italy. He was wounded by mortar fire but received the Italian Silver Medal of Bravery for helping Italian soldiers to safety despite his injuries. Stein was his mentor and close friend and he did credit her for the term. It was applied to the generation that came of age during the Great War. The term lost does not refer to a physical state of being but a metaphorical one. Those who survived the war seemed to lack a feeling of purpose or meaning after the battle had ended. Novelists like Hemmingway and F. Scott Fitsgerald, a close friend, wrote about the ennui their generation seemed to collectively suffer from. Sadly, at the age of 61, Hemmingway used a shotgun to take his own life. He was one of the most influential writers in American literature.
